It’s a common practice I observed in small hawker stalls in Taiwan that they let the customers handle the change themselves during payment, fully entrusting that the customers will do the right thing.
These are common amongst the single operators who want to avoid having to touch the money while handling the food at the same time.
I was thinking, what if society can commit to doing the right thing by others under a self governing system?
What’s stopping us from amplifying the lessons from Taiwan’s hawker establishments in building the trust economy not just at a micro level?
Think of the upside.
Wouldn’t the world be a far better place to live in?
