A Better Way of Living!
Welcome to the launch of Inspire Living Magazine.
Many of you may be wondering why after 2 years, we are embarking on the publishing of a new home and lifestyle magazine.
The short answer is simply this: we are here to create a better, more exciting magazine. One which has a fresh, dynamic look; and has more relevant and interesting information.
Before starting this project we asked ourselves -: how can we produce a better magazine; one which will provide our readers with a holistic inspirational ideas for a better way of living?
In this new publication we are pleased to be introducing our international segment on our cover story. This section has been included because we believe that homeowners should not only gain inspiration from the luxurious mansions at home in Kota Batu, but also from looking beyond our borders at the latest in global designs and trends.
That said, we have not forgotten the essence of what made our previous publication successful: Relevance. Inspire Living will continue to feature interesting and tastefully decorated houses in Brunei because at the end of the day, it is still the stories of Bruneian family dwellings that will give this magazine its soul and meaning.
We have also introduced a section on Property where we look at property investment opportunities both within the local context and on the international platform. In this issue, we take a look at Pacificity in KK, a 25 acre super condominium with facilities and offerings that will transform the way you live.
In the heart of our essence, we want to publish a magazine, which our readers can truly make a profit from reading the valuable resources that we present to them.
Inspire Living was created because we’ve recognized the fact that Bruneians today are highly educated, well traveled and internationally connected. Therefore, the style of Inspire Living has been designed and written to meet the unique lifestyle of the modern Bruneian while still upholding and valuing our unmatched quality of life.
Many of you may be questioning whether or not it is too soon to redefine the model of a Bruneian home and lifestyle magazine by including more than just the four corners of our country.
At Inspire Living, we believe that the time is now. The concept of being a global citizen is no longer an idea reserved for the future. In many ways we are already living in the future in this bountiful soil of unexpected treasures.
We believe the Bruneian readers are ready.
The Virtue of Keeping a Promise
Publishing today is not difficult. Almost anyone with a Facebook account, a blog, a designer, a DSLR camera and a garage could potentially call himself a publisher. In fact, this was how we started 2 years ago.
However, the ability to sustain a publication over a long period of time; and the determination to keep the content interesting, beneficial and relevant to the readers consistently month after month– this is what makes publishing difficult.
Over the past 2 years we have learnt a key lesson in publishing that we believe is integral to achieving success– that is, simply, the importance of “keeping a promise”.
The Promise to our Readers
People often asked, “How was it possible for you to keep featuring such beautiful houses every month? There is no secret. We asked everybody we met for leads; we stopped at every beautiful house that we came across and knocked on doors to get the owner’s permission to ‘shoot’.
Is this a complicated process? No.
Is it difficult to execute? You bet it is!
But we never give up because we recognize the importance of living up to our reader’s expectations.
The promise to deliver Better Value to our Advertisers
You may wonder how we intend to achieve this?
And the answer is – by sticking to sound traditional business principles, values and etiquette.
So that you can be assured that when any one from our team makes a promise, we make sure we deliver. The promise to return every phone call and emails; the promise to deliver objective and quality content; and most importantly, the promise to make a commitment and stick to it.
Have we dropped the ball before? Sure we have, afterall, we’re only human. But you are looking at a team of people who truly believe in what we do, who take pride for our work, and who set ourselves the highest standards.
We did not pitch 50,000 copies of the magazine to be circulated on the market. We promised 5,000 copies, and we have printed exactly that – no more, no less; a number that hardly impresses the mass market advertisers. As a result, we do not have many of them. However, every point of delivery is strategic for our advertisers and our distribution are always executed with speed and accuracy.
Which is why even at 5,000 copies print, you get to see the magazines everywhere you go. How do I know? Because I am one of the delivery boys for the publication.
The reason that you are here today to witness the launch of this magazine is because you have, in one way or another, entrusted us with your business idea; opened up your home to us or are supporting us with your hard earned money.
We certainly hope that so far, we have delivered to your satisfaction.
Who is to know, one day that we could be writing a regional publication to introduce the best of Brunei’s Home, Businesses and People to a much bigger, international audiences.
Thank you and I take this opportunity to invite you to come along with us on this meaningful and profitable journey!
